Here's a photo of mom's sample fishbowl cupcake.

Logan Turns Four!

Logan had a grand birthday!
He proudly wore his birthday ribbon announcing that April 29th was his "B Day". The moment he walked into school, he was greeted with many birthday wishes from friends and teachers including Susan and Jacqui. Mom brought the fishbowl cupcakes for his friends to decorate. Logan graciously smiled as the class sang "Happy Birthday" and in one breath blew out his candle. Immediately following the festivities at school, he was eager to leave so he could open his presents. It took him only minutes to open everything! He was anxious to use and play his new computer, his new animal figures and habitats, his scooter and helmet and his adventure equipment. After a brief dinner, we ate ice cream cake. There was no need to slice the cake. Logan simply ate from it. The day was also commemorated by 14 inches of snow! The next day we continued the birthday celebration with a swim at the Rec Center!

From Days Gone by...

Testing my ability to add video that's already loaded onto iphoto. I need Nathan to help me take video from the videocamera and add it to my computer. This video is only fair quality because the photo camera was used to take the video. This video is from Pike last summer during the parade. Have a good laugh...

Easter in Vail

There's no opportunity for spring clothing for Easter in the Vail Valley. Logan and I went Easter egg hunting in Avon. He looked forward to visiting the park most of all. However, he commented that the inflatable slide was "awesome." Decorating eggs has always been an event hosted by dad. Dad has the process down.

With the exception of a trim, Logan's hair has not been cut since last summer. With product, it curls up nicely.
The snowsuit is to illustrate what mud season is really like. This is just one day's worth of playing at school. I bought him rubbers because his boots and socks were soaking wet every day. Jumping into puddles is simply too hard to resist.

We visited the Field House for an hour of Tumble Tots. It didn't take long for Logan to dive into the all the activities. The gym had every piece of gymnastics equipment imaginable and Disney theme songs filled the air. Non stop running and jumping for an hour was not enough. The stamping of hands transition did not escape Logan, either. Went out for a late brunch and like clockwork, Logan was nearly falling asleep in the car. A perfect Saturday....

The new Drechsler Family Blog

Well spring WAS here. We had several warm spring days. Logan even commented that he enjoyed playing outside without a coat. However, it's April in the Rockies and those that live in the Vail Valley know that it ALWAYS snows in April. The forecast is 1 foot of snow. Fortunately our daffodils and tulips have not bloomed. Tomorrow, Logan and I will visit the Field House in Edwards for a drop in for a session of Tumble Tots. He too is participating in Smart Start Soccer on Wednesdays. He loves running and kicking the ball hard, though the coach is developing dribbling skills.

As you well know, Logan's 4th birthday is rapidly approaching. Giving Logan a choice from Hello Cupcake, he selected a fishbowl design. The children will decorate their own. Green fruit leather will be formed to create greenery while Finding Nemo fruit characters and Goldfish crackers will complete the themed cakes. I too made a craft for the children to make that compliments the theme complete with an om age to The Beatles' yellow submarine. Dad will make a contribution with a medley of Under the Sea themed music.
